Upload the theme1425 folder to the server (to the /wp-content/themes/ directory). Upload via Wordpress admin: Login to your Wordpress admin panel (add /wp-admin after your domain name in the browser address bar) Now go to Appearance Select the Add New Themes option Click Add new And upload your theme1425.zip file Installing WordPress http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress Theme activation Once you have uploaded the theme, activate your theme in Appearance > Themes. Using Themes http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Themes SQL dump file installation ATTENTION: Importing the SQL file to your database will overwrite your existing content and website settings. DO NOT import the SQL file if you want to keep the existing content NOTE: ALWAYS backup your database before performing any modifications To make your WordPress look like our live demo please, follow the instructions bellow. Install the template by following the directions Then, copy and unzip files from the folder "plugins" to the /wp-content/plugins/ folder or use the admin panel Dashboard > Plugins > Add new > Upload and select your plugin. Copy "uploads" folder to /wp-content folder. Open the theme1425.sql file that is located in the sources folder with any text editor (preferably Dreamweaver or Notepad) and replace all instances of "your_website_url_here" with your website URL in the entire document using the Find and Replace tool (usually the Ctrl+H hot key). E.g.: http://www.mywebsite.com Please, make sure that you do not have the forward slash "/" sign at the end of the address. Save your changes and close the file. Next, you can import the dump file with the phpMyAdmin tool or some other database management tool. Permalinks settings NOTE: Congifure the given settings right after the installation of the theme In this template the Permalinks are used, the standard paths of http://demolink.org/?p=1 are replaced with http://demolink.org/home. This way of links configuration can be used by not only our blog followers but will help in SEO-optimisation as well. The effectiveness and main features of this link configuration method are revealed here - http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks Please follow the steps below: Log in to your WordPress Administration Panel (Dashboard). Click the Settings That done, click Permalinks In permalinks settings please select Custom structure, after that copy and past the following settings /%category%/%postname%/ With that done, click the Save changes button. If you install the theme with the dump.sql file the settings will be configured automatically. However even in this case you still need to save the current settings by clicking Save changes. Menu setup WordPress 3.0 comes with a new menu management panel, which makes building your sites navigation very easy and flexible. Click the FAQs tab And now the Add New button Since it is a question/answer type of post, the title of the post is the question and the content is the answer. You need to use the slug of the category here. With that done, click the Publish button Note: Please do not post any content to the editor field if you use one of the pages pattern. The Widget is used for the slideshow because of Cycle plugin in its structure. The given widget contains the following options: Title: - Widget Title Limit Text: - the number of words in the brief post description. Posts per page: - the number of posts to display. Post Type: - a Post Type selection. Link Text: - the Link Text that is displayed after the Post Cycle. Link Url: - Link URL that is dsilayed after the Post Cycle. My - Recent Posts Displays recent posts. You can also show custom posts of certain categories and add a read more link. The given Wdiget contains tge following options: Title: - Widget Title Category ID: - Post Category ID. Posts per page: - the number of posts to display. Link Text: - the Link Text that is displayed after the Popular Posts. Link Url: - Link URL that is dsilayed after the Popular posts. My - Social Networks This is the Widget that allows linkage to your social network accounts. The widget contains the following options: Title: - Widget Title Facebook URL, Twitter URL, Flickr URL etc. - the links to your Social Network accounts Facebook label, Twitter label, Flickr label etc. - the labels for your Social Network accounts Display: the way of icons display. Icons - icons only. Labels - text only. Both - icons and text. Theme Options The given theme contains the Settings option. These settings allow for easy and quick change of the theme color palette, the items order, items on /off etc. In order to use these settings please go to Appereance > Theme Options. General settings Body styling - you can select the body color and background pattern. Header background color - Header background color Buttons and links color - Buttons and links color Typography - a set of Typography settings Custom CSS - if you need to add some css rules but you don't want to mess with the main css file, you can use this field. Just insert your new css rules Logo What kind of logo? - indicates what kind of logo to use, whether the text one or the image logo. This new Page Template will override the default page.php page template. WordPress can be configured to use different Page Templates for different Pages. At the page editing screen you can specify the page template in the Page Attributes block. How to create page templates In order to access the Page Template selector, there must be at least one custom Page Template available in the active theme. If a custom page exists, but you still are not able to see Page Template selector, try to re-activate your current theme. Creating Your Own Page Templates The files defining each Page Template could be found in wp-content/themes directory. To create a new Custom Page Template for a Page you must create new .php file.
